Business Development


CDC’s Division of Entrepreneurial Development was established by CDC as a means of creating jobs by fostering the success of our area’s small businesses and entrepreneurs. Through a variety of services, the Division provides expert assistance to entrepreneurs and existing small businesses to help them start a new business or grow or save an existing business.

Services are generally provided at no cost, and include:

  • Assistance in registering online with various state and federal agencies
  • Management and financial planning assistance
  • Technology and technical assistance
  • Business planning assistance
  • Accounting and tax incentive information and assistance

  • Business best practices
  • Market identification and marketing channels
  • Financing options
  • Research and development funding for high-tech companies (Small Business Innovation Research Grants) (fee based, if assistance is provided in completing an application)
